Craigleith Adult Gates - Special Edition

All,

At the risk of having less to discuss in next week's missive, I'm moved to bring you news from the front.  Craigleith 430, Peaks 413, Osler 385, Jozo Weider and Caledon also ran!!!  Yet another demonstration of Craigleith's depth of talent, marred only by Chris Shipton's apparent lower body injury in a first run DNF.  (Lunchroom tables were used for an impromptu consultation with an orthopedic surgeon as the awards ceremony crowd dispersed.  Immediate surgery was considered unnecessary.)   No one on the Craigleith team scored fewer than 20 points (one below the median for each age category in the complex Interclub scoring system).  TSB's strategy of stacking the men's 50 to 54 age group paid big dividends as Craigleith took 6 of the first 8 places in a 17 starter field, topped by prize recruit Jeff Sutherland's 29 points and followed by Bebe Zoricic, Trent Winstone, Craig Shibley, Ian Latimer and Randy Dalton.  (Five of the six were training in our session this morning.  Bebe was apparently looking around in his basement for some skis to try.)

Margaret Isberg, Allan LaChance, Leslie Morgan, Kate Veer, Kat Zoricic, Scott McLorie and Justin Kowal were the other Craigleith category winners, while Glenn Blaylock with 26 and Tiana Boyman with 23 were other high point scorers.

Congratulations are due also to the dozen or more team members who weren't in today's lineup but contributed to Craigleith winning the regular season championship, which entitles us to host next year's final and start first in each category today.

More celebration can be anticipated at next Saturday's GDHL banquet.  Don't forget to get your tickets pronto!  Meanwhile, see you tomorrow for the last training before the Club championships,

JWM
